Have You Ever Seen a Wordle?

Wow, the Intrawebz are full of fun time-wasters. I just found Wordle.net. What’s a Wordle?

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Here’s a Wordle for this blog. Notice anything?

Wordle: Knowledge Hungry

  1. I love Wordles! I use them for my scientific abstracts sometimes just to visualize my emphasis and check to make sure it’s the right one. It’s fun to click through and find the cool fonts and colors.

    Ah… procrastinating… 🙂

    • Neat use of something that I just thought of using for fun… I wonder what would happen if I put my masters thesis into Wordle.
