People keep telling me about their gardens, and I keep seeing gardens on the internet. I wish I were growing my own vegetables. Is it too late to start my own little garden?
We’ve been watching Little House on the Prairie lately. I know it is very loosely based on a series of books, which is based loosely on what happened in real life. Although as a child I read the books, I remember very little of the story. So, I decided to poke around on Wikipedia about the characters, that is, the real people who the stories were based upon. I read about Laura first, of course, the author and protagonist. I was sad to read that Mary never married and made her living making fly nets for horses, even after finishing college. On the TV show, she married and was a teacher of blind children. I was happy to see that Manly was actually more handsome than Dean Butler, who played him on TV.

I wish I could go to the Stand Up for Religious Freedom Rally today, but although it is during lunch time, by the time I walk there, participate, and walk back, it would be much more than my allotted time.
This week was nice, since I don’t have an activity every evening of the week anymore. I was able to get some things done at home. I like to have my house clean and organized. I worked on that some… I’ve got a long way to go…
One of the things I was able to do this week was finish a book. I’ve had several books going at the same time, so I haven’t finished one in a while. I will write a review this afternoon or tomorrow.
One year ago today, my nephew was born. He’s such a doll. I talked to him on the phone for the first time last night. I didn’t understand a word he said, but he had plenty to say!

Knowledge Hungry 
I loved Little House on the Praire as a child. My books feel apart because I read them so much. I am sure you would enjoy them as an adult.
I actually reserved them from the library. I figure that I should be able to read all 9 in the time that they are checked out. A couple of years ago I read Little House in the Big Woods in a few hours.

I saw Little House on the Prairie the musical in the touring broadway version 2 summers ago. It was SUPER CUTE!! It was really neat because the actress that played Laura on the tv show played the Mom in the broadway show (I cannot think of the actresses name right now). I watched an interview before I saw the play and she said, “I’m probably the only actress that has played both daughter and mom in the same story.”

I think it may be too late to start anything from seed but you could get plants at a nursery and start from there.
You might be right, especially since I didn’t get to it this weekend.
I read most of the Little House books in elementary school… which seems about a MILLION YEARS ago. The show was my grandmother’s favorite, so I know I watched it on more than one occasion, but I don’t remember much about it at all. Now Anne of Green Gables? I remember a LOT about that 😀
I did not do a garden this year because I’m bad at growing things. But I did join a CSA! And I’ve been trying all sorts of new veggies. Tonight I boiled some collard greens with a hambone. Never made collards before. We’ll see if they’re any good.
How were the collards? I’ve never eaten them in the states, but when I was in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, my landlady made them all the time!
It’s not too late to start a garden, at least where I live! You’d probably want to start with already growing plants from a nursery or garden center. I’m hoping we remember to water ours for another couple months so we get to enjoy them. If it’s hot where you are, just remember to keep them watered and not water the leaves, and water in fertilizer really well. Good luck!! Post pictures 🙂

I’ve heard a lot about Little House on the Prairie, but never saw the series or read the books. Maybe I should.
And it’s never too late to start a garden, just look up what you can still plant. I don’t have a real garden, only a terrace, but I have lots of herbs and also some lettuce this year. Let’s hope the snails don’t eat all of it …

We just put our cucumbers, tomatoes, and hot peppers in last week so I don’t think it’s too late. I also heard about not watering the leaves and we are going to try that this year. Don’t quite understand it since the rain gets the leaves wet. Must be ok when nature does it. Also, have some leaf lettuce growing in a container. I’ll bet your bunnies would like some.
Yes, I grew lettuce, parsley and catnip in containers last year. It didn’t work out as well as I would have liked, but I think I’ll try again.
