The Creed

This Creed is the spiritual seal, our heart’s meditation and an ever-present guardian; it is, unquestionably, the treasure of our soul.

St. Ambrose

How beautiful to believe, and know what I believe. To have the words to meditate upon and mull over truly is a treasure.

    • Thanks, Jen. I’ll have to listen to it on Saturday when I have time. The VP of our Dominican Lay Fraternity chapter was telling me I should read Pelikan. Since he’s come up twice in about a month, I think I’ll be adding to my reading list.

  1. Great post.

The Creeds are putting words into our mouths.

And that is a good thing, because they are good, Christ centered words. They help to keep us anchored to Christ, lest we drift about here and there and get lost in all sorts of places where we ought not go.

    Thanks, so much.

    • I was a little worried when I read “creeds are putting words into our mouths,” but how true and how beautiful that they keep us from going places where we shouldn’t go.
